Food & Trees for Africa (FTFA) is a renowned South African organisation that works in partnership with government and the private and public sectors to improve the quality of life and environments for all communities of our country. FTFA is involved with, among other things, greening, sustainable natural resource management, permaculture and food security programmes.

Permaculture is a radical approach to food production, urban renewal, water, energy and pollution. It integrates ecology, landscape, organic gardening, architecture and agro-forestry to provide healthy food for all, anywhere. Fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs build immune systems and help AIDS patients.

In the past 16 years, FTFA has distributed over 2.3 million trees and helped establish over 1200 organic food gardens for the poorest in South Africa.
